FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We are always trying to improve the information and services to all of our customers. Over the past few months we have been open, we’ve had to modify some of our rules and fee structures. These are the most commonly asked questions and answers that should help resolve any confusion regarding our services.

We understand that some things may not make sense or you may have additional questions.
We ask that you reach out to us if you have any questions that are not covered here.

  • Every place has rules in place and Skate-N-Place is no different. These are common sense rules and they are in place for safety and must be adhered to 100% of the time. Although these are common sense, we do have to be sure to post them, so be sure to abide by them at all times. Failure to abide by any rules could result in your being told to leave or be removed from the property. It is your responsibility to understand these and you accept these rules when you enter the property.

SKATING IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND PERIL!!

No weapons of ANY kind are allowed in or on the property, yes this includes pocket knives

No smoking or vaping in or on the property at any time

No skate bags, large bags or large purses

No outside food OR drink is allowed at any time, this keeps us in compliance with NYS health law. This includes water bottles. We have a water filling station on site that is publicly accessible.

No gum chewing anywhere in the building

No food or drink beyond the concession area as this causes a safety concern on the roller floor

No shoes, boots or stocking feet on the roller floor at any time. This includes helping small children. Why? Because it brings unwanted debris, stones, salt, water and grease onto the floor and poses a serious safety issue which could cause someone to fall and be injured

No carrying of children while you are wearing skates

  • As always, it takes a few people to ruin it for others. Unfortunately, due to some recent theft, we have decided to discontinue allowing any large bags into the building. This includes skate bags, large purses and other bags which may conceal items to be stolen. We understand it is an inconvenience and apologize. Unfortunately, some people do not seem to respect our business.

  • Skate-N-Place has opted to refuse refunds of any kind. Skating is at your own risk. Why do we not offer refunds? Many times, people want to "try" it out and find that they do not wish to continue skating. We have chosen not to refund because of this. People have taken advantage of it and have abused it. We do apologize, but as always, it is a few that always ruin it for everyone else.

  • There are couple prices for admission. Daytime and Nighttime.

Tiny Tots Session (Saturdays 10AM - 12PM) is $10 per person parents skate free

Day prices (Before 4PM) is $12 per person

Night Prices (After 4PM) is $15 per person

Skate rentals are $5 per person

Entry fee (spectating only, not skating) is $5 per person before 4PM. Night sessions (after 4PM) are full admission price.

Why do we charge a spectator fee at all? Well, we have an occupancy limit. We charge an entry fee because we turn away business if the building is fully occupied. The entry fee for spectating helps us recoup losses of clients that wanted to skate.

  • All skate rentals are $5 - this is for traditional skates or inline (rollerblade style) skates.

  • Unfortunately, Skate-N-Place has absolutely nothing to do with the games that are in the building. These games are owned, operated and maintained by a 3rd party called Stanton Automatics. Skate-N-Place does not have the ability to do anything to repair or offer refunds for these games.

  • Of course, every facility has to have rules in place for safety. Our rules are simple and easy to follow. We know that we serve a diverse clientele and understand that these rules may seem “silly” but once you understand the reasons they are in place, they are pretty much common sense! That said… here they are.

No hats of ANY kind are allowed on the roller floor while skating. Although this may seem unorthodox, please keep in mind, if your hat falls off and gets caught up in the wheels of another skater and they fall, they can become injured. The only allowed headgear is a safety helmet.

No cell phone use AT ALL while on the roller floor. It is a distraction and could cause someone to either fall, become injured or run into someone or something. Please keep cell phones in your pocket or in a locker. Lockers are free, be sure to bring a lock!

No carrying of children while you are wearing skates! This is pretty much a no-brainer and it's a major safety issue which could cause someone to become seriously injured or worse!

Always go WITH the flow of traffic on the roller floor. This should be easily understood as you do not want to go face-to-face with someone in the opposite direction because someone will end up being injured.

Listen to the floor/skate guards. They are their for your safety and protection.

  • Absolutely! Feel free to bring your own skates. If for some reason you do not have your own, we have rentals available. We carry both the traditional "quad" roller skates as well as inline (hockey style) skates. Please note, because of safety reasons, we do not allow "wheelies" skates/shoes.

  • We currently have 2 sessions for skating lessons and they are broken down by age group. These are GROUP lessons and not individual lessons. If you are interested in private lessons, please contact us at (315) 207-7161.

All group lessons are on Saturday mornings and the price is $10 to attend.

    From 9:30AM – 10AM, lessons for those 8 years old & younger

    From 12:00PM – 1:00PM, lessons for those 9 years old & older

  • Right now, we have "kiddie skates" that are as small as 7-11 and size 2. The largest size skates we carry are 15 in traditional skates and size 13 inline skates.

  • We open doors for admission minutes before the session starts.

  • It is the same reason that a movie theater would charge you to chaperone kids to the movies. We also have an occupancy limit. Because of the occupancy limit, by law, we must turn away business if the building is fully occupied. The fee helps us recoup losses of clients that wanted to skate.
